Democrats Reschedule Kerry 2004 Victory Concerts

Barbra Streisand, Billy Crystal, Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson To Perform In Honor of Kerry at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Thursday June 24

June 09, 2004

For Immediate Release Washington, D.C.

NY Concert rescheduled for July 8 at Radio City Music Hall. Performers to be announced next week.

The Kerry campaign and the Democratic National Committee announced today that the Los Angeles concert originally scheduled for Monday June 7th to benefit the “Kerry Victory Committee 2004" has been rescheduled for Thursday June 24, 2004 at 8:00 PM and the New York concert originally scheduled for Thursday June 10th has been rescheduled for Thursday July 8th. The Los Angeles concert, now scheduled for June 24th, will feature Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson, and Billy Crystal with an all star cast of celebrity presenters and performers to be announced at the Music Center’s new venue Walt Disney Concert Hall.

The New York Concert on July 8th will be held at Radio City Music Hall. The roster of performers will be announced next week.

"Thanks to the cooperation and can-do spirit of the artists originally scheduled to perform this week, our producers, our technicians and production staff and the teams at Walt Disney Concert Hall and Radio City Music Hall, we are delighted to be able to announce that the Kerry Victory 2004 shows will go on in Los Angeles and New York," said Mary Beth Cahill, Kerry's campaign manager. "So many people came together to make this a success for John Kerry and the Democratic Party and that spirit of teamwork and unity has made it possible to reschedule these two events so quickly."

"Everyone across the country is so excited about John Kerry’s candidacy and his positive vision for the future of our nation," said DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe. "People are coming together to help him and the Democratic Party win in November in unprecedented ways, working together for our shared goal of a stronger America. That is why it was so easy to make a relatively seamless transition to new dates for our Los Angeles and New York events once we made the decision to reschedule the show."

The rescheduled Los Angeles concert will take place on Thursday June 24th, 2004 at 8:00 PM at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond will be performing together for the first time in 24 years at the event. Tickets are available by calling the John Kerry for President office in Los Angeles at 310-556-9172 x106.

The New York City concert originally scheduled for June 10th will take place on July 8th, 2004 at Radio City Music Hall. Performers for the NY City Concert will be announced next week. Tickets for the New York show are available by calling the John Kerry for President office in New York at 1-212-764-7104.

Jann Wenner will executive produce both the Los Angeles and New York concerts. Tom Gorman will serve as Managing Director for both events. In Los Angeles the concert will also be produced by Harvey Weinstein, co-chair of Miramax, Marty Erlichman and Ken Ehrlich. David Foster will serve as Barbra Streisand’s musical director. John Sykes will produce the New York concert.

oh man. I'll never feel the same about Neil Diamond. What an ass, as is anyone associated with the rats.

All that talent, what a waste.

He still owes the IRS money. They are keeping him alive until his back-taxes are paid in full.

Look at how Kerrey has milked headlines while claiming, "out of respect", he will not campaign this week. Then Kerry puts out:

Big PR release: He will cancel all events.

Big PR release: He might view the casket in CA.

Big PR release: He will view the casket in CA.

Big PR release: Viewing the casket in CA, with pictures

Big PR release: Viewing the casket in DC.

Big PR release: New dates for rescheduled events.

And President Reagan isn't even buried yet!

In 1974 I shared a bottle of mescal with an old wino who looked like he was on his last binge. I learned the next day it was Willie.

More heartache for poor ol' Clinton-all his groupies shamelessly throwing themselves at another gigolo.

"I didn't realize that Willie Nelson was such a leftist weenie."

Willie did beg that whisky river to take his mind - apparently it did just that.

I'd recommend buying (as I did 10 years ago) the Velvet Gloves and Spit album with underrated Diamond gems like "Twobit Manchild" and "Practically Newborn" (ignore "The Potsmoker's Song" if you want), but not now.

Actually this isn't the first time I've seen Neil branded as a lib by a FReeper. Now I know why.

This is odd. Wille Nelson had to drop out weeks ago due to surgery for carpal tunnel in his wrist. He isn't expected to be able to play anywhere until July yet they still keep promoting him as playing there.

Idea for a sign:

At any Democrat gathering, you'll find more Anti-American Sentiment than can be found in Iraq.
