Could be that such a move could reduce Red China from the worlds most populous country, to Asia's least populated real estate. Taiwan may well deal with the hordes of communmist Chinese as successfully as the young state of Israel dealt with the attack by hordes of Arabs, all those many years ago.

It's never over until the full figured gal sings.

Probably.

But the point is that they won't always be crap. They are working to build a professional navy with a high-quality officers and men. You can then take those men (in 10-15 years) and put them into good machines, near to their logistical bases.

Then you have a much bigger problem.

Pieces of a puzzle?

Nope. Pieces on a board - a chess board.

Their incoherent and confusing history

Why do you say that? I'm no expert on Chinese history but it is pretty well documented at least from 400 BC and probably earlier

China won't attack as long as their economy is holding together.

If there's a world economic recession, and global trade crumples, then all bets are off, and not only in Taiwan.

"... Taiwan would be in deep trouble and would face a Red Chinese attack from TWO major armed camps. The first red Chinese attck would come, of course, from the Chinese mainland. The second prong of the attack would come from the major Chinese military base in Panama."

That's a long prong, General Wong.

Knocking out that dam would be something.

How could an adversary ignore that?

The old vessels are crap...for several years they have been using our money and the manufacturing capability we have helped them build, to build and buy much more capable and modern ones.

The second prong of the attack would come from the major Chinese military base in Panama.

I'm not sure that you have a very clear idea of exactly how far it is from Panama to Taiwan. It would be easier to launch an attack from, say, Turkey or Madagascar.

I believe they will hit us to keep us from getting involved. Remember too, they took over the old Russian base in Cuba. Then have facilities at ports all over the U.S. - a biggie at the Port of Los Angeles, Long Beach. Since the company is partly owned by the PLA, I'm sure a lot of plans will be hatching there!
