You may be right, BUT you have to remember it's not for us to decide who those people are. Only God knows those people. It's our job to pray for them. YOu remember the Son of Sam killer? He became a christian.
What comes to mind is that it is easy for a person to make a deathbed confession and repent so as to influence public opinion and "soften" the public's view of their misdeeds.
FRankly, I think such actions are bogus public relations ploys.
Thankfully, I do not have to judge late "conversions."
IMHO, though, if an evil person is able to escape the fires of Hell because of a few words uttered just before their death, it kind of trashes the whole concept of living as a God fearing productive member of society, doesn't it?
I mean, if we have to deal with the same a$$holes in Heaven as we have to deal with here on earth, what is the point?
