They get paid to talk and inform us about things......unfortunately, I think it is uncomfortable for the media folks when there is just plain silence.
Actually, I think it is more that the media people love to hear the sound of their own voices. They also seem to think that if they don't explain everything to us, we won't understand what is going on.
