I despise Kennedy but I saw him with Lott at some event honoring Reagan (maybe in 2003). When Lott spoke his remarks were distant and unmoving. Kennedy on the other hand spoke with such great affection that I was shocked. I don't believe he could or would make that up and so I conclude that his feelings about President Reagan are sincere.
I can imagine it brings back some personal memories also. I'll give him a break on this one.
