Posted on 06/10/2004 2:28:07 PM PDT by alisasny
Alot of dignataries are now showing up to pay respects. McCain, Guiliani, Gorby, Karzai, etc.
Cspan has live coverage. Bush expected at 7 but could be earlier? He is then going to visit with Mrs. Reagan.
Guard changes about every half hour at .28 and .58 of the hour. One is going on right now.

One baby kept saying "ah ah" over and over to hear himself with the echo.It was hilarious.

That's the Gipper's adopted son Michael.
Just my opinion, but when comparing the public attitude of Michael Reagan and
Ron Reagan, I tell folks that Michael Reagan is at least more truly Ronald Reagan's
son in terms of spirit.

You're going to the Olympics? That's great! Hopefully you'll be our eyes and ears to what's going on and what's being said on the streets. If you find a way to be able to post, I would like to be on a *ping* list!

I thought it was an Army General (brigadier - one star) with this shoulder patch - at least that is what I thought I saw during the live feed this AM.

What really ticks me off are, as usual, the French. Chirac, in French politics, is actually a man of the right. At bottom he is an opportunist, like most guys who get to his level in France. Chirac has neither the grace nor the
politesse to attend the funeral.
Trust me; the time will come when the French will need us. We will not be there. His conduct now, and over the past year, has been a disgrace. He actively tried to protect his client in Baghdad, and now that that's gone sour, he's decided to make a show of not attending (sending washed up old Giscard d'Estaing instead...).
Payback will come. The French will need us. That is when we will deliver their payment in kind.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

And he may have been WAAAY to hard to handle. I think a stallion would have been too much to handle.

Reverence! You can't have a bunch of marching, stomping, clip-clopping of feet .. it's too disturbing.
