Wondered the same thing at first last night, but if you look closely, he's in a wheelchair. The right hand (on our left as we look at the picture) of the guy behind him is on the handle of the wheelchair.
I also think his look of "boredom" may be more of frustration too, he can't see around the people standing slightly to his right and in front of him.
I will give him a pass on that.
