Klayman Sued By Republican Pollster

The former Judicial Watch chairman was sued this week by his former pollster for $60,000 in unpaid bills.

The Arlington, Va., polling company of Fabrizio, McLaughlin & Associates, Inc., claimed in a lawsuit filed in Florida Circuit Court that it conducted a poll of 800 GOP primary voters in September and had never been paid.

Klayman told the AP that his Senate campaign was overcharged for the poll.

"Among other issues Klayman for Senate disputes the amount. This is in part a commercial dispute," Klayman told the wire service, adding it "in no way affects our Senate race."

But the Herald said other contractors and supporters of the Klayman for Senate campaign may have to take legal action to get their bills paid.

According to Klayman's Federal Election Commission filing in April, he is disputing $211,690 in services his campaign was billed by seven firms.

The paper reported those candidate Klayman may be wrangling with include:

• Roger Stone, who is reportedly owed $83,000 by the campaign. Stone had served as consultant to the campaign.

• Former campaign spokesman Mike Caputo who says Klayman has not paid him $5,000 he owes for moving expenses. "I'm a single father and I moved down here after getting wiped out by the economy, and he just stiffed me,'' said Caputo. Caputo had moved from Dallas to work with Klayman.

• The former landlord for Klayman's Miami campaign headquarters, Daniel Dominguez. Dominguez told the Herald Klayman is "behind on the rent he owes, but has started paying it back." Dominquez was apparently not aware the Klayman had disputed the rent in his FEC filing. Dominques is also angry that Klayman's cats "left behind cat residue in the second-story quarters." ''He didn't like what I told him: He was going nowhere fast. He was probably going to be dead last,'' said pollster Fabrizio.

''He strung me along, and promised to pay me but never did,'' Fabrizio said. ``And when I demanded my money, he threatened to sue me.''

overblown or not is not the issue. Did he know the price before he ordered it?

I don't know. But I do know that if you ask me for $75 for making a phone call or sending out a questionaire to one person (times 800), I'd tell you to go jump in a lake :)). Not a service I'd order.
