Thank you. I had exactly the same reaction as you and appreciate your making the effort to post the words. I remember singing this every morning in grade school following the pledge. My kids now only learn it in band (melody only). I plan to teach them this and other patriotic songs this summer.
I guarantee you that more than 80% of our nation's youth have never heard the anthem, and couldn't give you the title. Shame on our schools and our political correctness run amok. Here's hoping this beautifully dignified ceremony rekindles patriotism, pride in our country, and a deep love for freedom.
