I found this surfing the web. The author makes a good case that Reagan won the Cold War. It contains great stupid quotes by liberals in the 1980's who ridiculed the idea that the Cold War could be won.

In 2002, for the first time since 1917, the Russians achieved the great purpose of all successful nations. They managed to feed their own people. During the entire time the Russians suffered under Communist domination, they imported food from the United States. That's right--we fed the Soviets even as they sought to destroy us. Of course that excludes the year of 1980, when Carter imposed a grain embargo on the Soviet Union. Reagan lifted that embargo so that the Soviet people could eat and American farmers could sell their harvests.
