I put my flag on my house (like yours) at half-staff, is that incorrect? Should I bring it back up and get the bow?

Oh that was a picture someone else posted on another thread. I'mm flying the CA Republic flag at my house right now. I don't have any black ribbon or any way to do a half-mast.

Flying the flag at half-staff is proper for a flag that can be lowered on its pole. The bows are proper for wall-mounted flags; the ribbon is proper for a flag on a pole that can't be lowered to half-staff.
