Yeah I heard a sicko on C-Span who said that the Republicans were making a big deal out of Reagan's death to get Bush reelected. Now that is some very vacant thinking.

IMHO if you don't have anything good to say about a person at their funeral, you just show up and stand quietly.

However there is a kernel of truth in there. Reagan's timely death has renewed his legacy. I feel like switching from mourning to celebrating his life, what he stood for, and what he accomplished.

Since the Gipper was a showman at heart, I wonder, did he plan the exit? Naw couldn't have.

I believe he and Nancy did plan the actual ceremony over 10 years ago. I suspect he left the timing to a higher authority.

The whole trip on the Caisson made me very sad. When they started speaking of his many great accomplishments and how genuine a person he was, I became happy to have shared time on this mortal coil with him.
