“President Reagan loved this country and provided hope and strong leadership to our nation at an important time in our history. His commitment to winning the Cold War not only preserved American democracy, but also helped bring freedom to so many people in other parts of the world. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Nancy Reagan and the rest of his family at this time.”

According to Gov. Kernan's press office, Indiana governmental offices will NOT close in honor of President Reagan.

Kernan is a Democrat. He's running for governor this year, filling out Frank O'Bannon's term. Indiana historically goes to the GOP every election.

Mitch Daniels, is the GOP Candidate, Pres. Bush's former director of the Office of Management and Budget, and has been endorsed by the President.

My Man Mitch for Governor

I urge my fellow Hoosiers to call Governor Kernan and ask him why Indiana is not honoring Pres. Reagan.

Edgar Whitcomb, Otis Bowen and Robert Orr were all a Republicans

Evan Bayh broke the string, and the GOP has not had a strong candidate in years. Daniels could help Bush take Indiana, which would give the President 11 more electoral votes. As close as the election is right now, those 11 could be important.

Actually, if Kerry is competitive in IN, he will win probably 40 states.
