I agree. I remember the outrage I felt when the democrats at Wellstone's memorial booed some of our Republican senators. It was tasteless. We do not need to show the same level of poor tast. Kerry's actions today are for the camera and everyone will see it as such. But if we respond without dignity, we are only showing Reagan and his family disrespect

Kerry could have showed some class by being with his elected colleagues in the Senate to show their respects, tomorrow. Instead he brings his own camera crew and cuts in line of regular people who have been waiting for hours to pay their respects.

And I am confident that his ploy will be seen for the classless action that it is.

The networks will report the long lines waiting to pay their respects. The implications inherent in Kerry's drive-by visit will not need to be spoken. It is by such tokens that campaigns are broken.

This incident probably will not be Kerry's Dukakis in Tank moment, but it presages the defining moment.

Somewhat like Reagan's "I paid for this microphone" presages the firing of the air traffic controllers and the Berlin Wall speech.

This is not the funeral, this was supposed to be for locals to have a chance to say goodbye. "The Peoples" so to speak. Kerry showing up here was an effort to make himself photoop into one of the "peoples".

He could have easily waited to be the last person after teh cameras turned off but then there would not have been the same crowd.

I am surprised because his handlers have been hiding him pretty well before this.
