Turn out is heavy in Republican districts in the upstate due to close county council races. WORD 1330 reported at noon that the turnout in the Columbia area is light. That could hurt Beasley. Alot of ppl in upstate are supporting DeMint or Ravenel. Husband and I voted for Ravenel. I don't think Beasley will get the percentages that he was polling. It will be a close one.. I still think it will be decided in the Lowcountry - who will get the votes there - Ravenel or Beasley.

That race was a tough one for me. To be honest, I have never voted in an election where there were several candidates I REALLY liked. I liked Ravenel a lot but just could not, not vote for DeMint. I would not be hurt if either one wins. But, I agree about Beasley...he will not carry the upstate. I also voted to keep Hipp (rino) out!

I'm not in Case/Hipp district, but my in laws are, they are voting for Case. My motherinlaw was polled at least 3 times by phone on this race. I think Hipp will lose because ppl know he is a RINO and the Conservative Christian and BJU group of voters will turn out big for Case, Selby and Taylor. I voted for Selby.

Ravenel would be the strongest General Election candidate -- no baggage.

yes I believe Ravenel is from the Charleston area...I may be wrong though

As far as Hayne Hipp goes, my ex used to work with him...he had nothing good to say about him back then. He used to say he was overbearing and boy, after his commercials, I can see why he said that.

Yes, Ravenel is from Lowcounty, but so is Condon. I hope he doesn't spit the "Charleston" vote. Beasley is from Darlington/Florence area. From Columbia to southward will be interesting vote totals.

Can somebody explain the differences between the candidates generally in terms of how far right they are on the issues?
