I was an at home mommy for 11 years, I know how hard it is to make ends meet. I have 3 kids, now ages 11, 12 and 13....
(3 kids in diapers for 9 months...)

I had a flair for doing cakes for birthdays, and started doing them out of my kitchen. I made a good living off of it.

You just have to find out what you are good at, then do it. You will be surprised at what you may find you can do. I did well with the cakes because other moms were working, and couldnt do them.

Dont get discouraged, you are doing the most important job on earth right now. God Bless you!!!

A while back I worked at a restaurant/cafe, and this stay at home mom baked excellent cakes for our cafe. We cut checks to her each week for ~$600. I know we were not her only business. She came and gave us free samples and we took her on after we tried them. She ended up buying these huge commercial ovens later on that she set up in her garage. She was getting pretty good business. The thing is though, with this type of business, is that you have to guarantee that you can bake whatever order they give you. So, if you can't handle being slammed with an order, the restaurant will drop you quick style. You have to do a little marketing like this but it can pay off. Its a lot of work, but making $$$ on your own is a lot of work no matter what you do.
