I don't know about you guys, but I have not seen Old Cracker post much, but I think his labeling me a genius (while spot on) was just dripping with sarcasm.

Out of fairness to you NPR sympathizers I listened again, and this self-confessed liberal Keillor guy has a definite sarcastic tone to his voice. Only a fence riding libertine would think Keillor's affected speaking and singing was sincere.

Where in my post do I express sympathy to NPR? I'm all for attacking Keillor and NPR when the conditions warrant, but it just isn't there in this case. Keillor didn't say or do anything disrespectful and I think you're engaging in some mind reading to claim otherwise. Now those jerks in the audience are another matter ...

Well, he labeled me Shirley (not spot on). So I'm guessing there was a little sarcasm dripping from his words.

When he calls one of his sheep "Shirley" they start to buck like hell and try to crash out of their stalls.

>>You reported back not only the wrong thing, but you divined what his intent was in singing it.<<

Hey, listen, back off pal!
The misreporting was an honest error. When I get some publisher to pay for an editor for me, then you can give me grief about honest errors.
As for "divin[ing] his intent," given the data I had, I would not call that divining, but the only ossible conclusion.

Geez, man... go find someone worth picking a fight with or get yourself a beer.

Thank God for Bill Gates.

Fights were so much more bloody in person than they are on the internet.

Post 149 sounded unintentionally beligerent. It was confusion not anger that caused the "****" to appear.

You truly believe that you have to be a psychic to discern another person's attitude while they are speaking? From which planet do you hail?

I will observe, however, that your post is probably the most unReaganlike one on this thread.

LOL. That's not what I meant. I meant his attribution of the internet to Gates was bewildering, not enraging. The **** meant to express that bewilderment, not rage.

And on 2nd listening, the song Garry sings is strangely appropriate, isn't it?

In this case, yes. You said there was a "definite sarcastic tone" to Keillor's comments. I heard the recording and I don't hear that tone. I think most people who were disgusted with the Prarie Home Companion broadcast were disgusted with those audience members who cheered, but you're one of the few who is disgusted with Keillor. I say that what you heard is totally in your head and that to make such a claim you would have to be psychic, because it just isn't there in his words or his tone.

There's a lot of good examples of liberal bias and malfeasance on the part of the Democrats and the Media over the past few days. This is not one of them.

[ Keillor was respectful and polite about the president as he always is about everybody, and just continued without stopping for a heckler. ]

Keillor is a die hard socialist.. maybe worse. Do a search on Free republic or even Google there are other items on Keillor.. Leftists are veritable traitors even the dumbest ones, they are enablers. Treason and/or sedition is not funny or even even cute. Compassionate conservatism is a mirage only seen by neocons or other ex-democrats. Keillor is an enemy of america. Not THE enemy but An enemy.
