the sarcasm fairly dripped from his voice Yeah! That is how I felt about the fishing show I was watching saturday night.
It was not just that they did not mentioned the death of the Gipper, it was the mocking way they just kept fishing as if the Gipper had not just died.

See.... ~You~ I know well enough to sense dripping sarcasm from!
I am out of here for a while.... Thanks for your work!

I didn't hear the show; however, I think what you're talking about is standard-issue "leftist angry approval applause."You really should listen at the links.... all in the first three minutes of the show. There were TWO people in crowd that usually numbers in the thousands, who yelled out. They were hecklers, not cheers. And GK didn't play to them, what he said is at 116

Out of fairness to you NPR sympathizers I listened again, and this self-confessed liberal Keillor guy has a definite sarcastic tone to his voice. Only a fence riding libertine would think Keillor's affected speaking and singing was sincere.

Are you calling me an "NPR sympathizer" or a "fence-riding libertine"?

Based on your glowing reviews of this self-confessed liberal and his many and varied talents, I would guess that burying sarcasm is not much of a stretch for Mr. Keillor.

When I read crap like this, I really begin to ask where is their respect for "your fellow man". I guess that if the leftist socialist groups have done their brainwashing well enough anything goes. (Bracing for more of this crap come November.)

You're a self-confessed guy who has never listened to him, and wouldn't know his sarcasm from his real character. I have listened to him for twenty years... Let's don't go out of our way to find offense in what "just might be" deeply veiled sarcasm from a guy announcing the death of a man he never claimed to vote for, but respected for his charm. I believe what he said.
We have actual enemies, we don't have time to bother with dissecting real attempts at saying something nice.

That's how GK always sounds. I heard nothing sarcastic in his words or his tone.

I just copied you, so don't get so excited. If you aren't either, then just ignore it. If you are an NPR sympathizer and/or a libertine, then yes, it was for you.

"Throwing dirt around means your probably losing ground."
In a war of words, the loser is the one with the dirtiest hands.

You're welcome to believe whomever you choose. But this Keillor guy sounds like a real drip.

Okay.
I'm probably being too touchy.
I just closed on a new house yesterday and haven't had a decent night's sleep in over a week.
I am sorry for having misjudged you.
( And no, i quit listening to NPR once i figured out what they were. )

That's how GK always sounds. I heard nothing sarcastic in his words or his tone. The opinions of you, I, and everybody else who have listened to him for years don't matter. Apparently what matters is the opinions of people who listened to him for a few seconds and tried to remove something out of context.
Rather than filling our heads with the poison being spewed by Car Talk and Praire Home Companion, we should be watching good, wholesome shows on broadcast TV.
Were my words or tone sarcastic just now??? ;-)
To: kittymyrib
You and I are in agreement on this point.
To: O.C. - Old Cracker
But this Keillor guy sounds like a real drip.
That may be true, but is a separate issue from the one being discussed here.
To: Bluntpoint
In a war of words, the loser is the one with the dirtiest hands. You are a genius!
