The picture of Elian took me back in time; it's still a shocking image. And for some reason that took me back to Waco. He incinerated those women and children; contravened Posse Comitatus without the slightest hesitation or justification.
At the time Waco occurred, I wasn't too alarmed about it. It took my Mother (an Italian immigrant, who graduated from what would be the equivalent of US 8th Grade) to point out what an evil it was, and what a dangerous precedent was set.
