I have this vague memory of an old Dire Straits song...

I think it was by The Buggles: MTV killed the Video Star.

The Dire Straits song would be that one with Sting singing the opening "I want my MTV" and the 2 computer animated moving guys sang about "money for nothing and chicks for free". Money for Nothing?
