Sooner or later, after the EU dissolves two recessions hence, France will once again seek allies in the East against Germany. 1000+ years of history do not lie, no matter what Brussels may think.
Poland has a long history of alliance with France, but has no illusions - the Poles remember 1939. The Poles know that the United States is the only ally that can be counted on in any crisis.
