Thanks, Onyx. I was beginning to wonder if I was seeing gremlins under the bed when there weren't any. I'm willing to acknowledge that perhaps I overreacted to the "while his politics became conservative" bit. But the truth of the matter is that modern-day Hollywood has never embraced Ronald Reagan as one of their own. My reaction comes against that backdrop.
That's correct and his pals are dead.
Jimmy Stewart was a close friend and
a fellow Republican.
Merv Griffin is alive, but I can't recall
any of his other close show business pals
who are still living.
Melissa Gilbert wasn't alive when RWR
was SAG president, and by her statement
it is obvious.
modern-day Hollywood has never embraced Ronald Reagan as one of their own.
He is NOT one of their own, but he has a respectable history in "not so modern day" hollywood. He was a member of the "greatest generation". Many actors of the era did their part in WWII. Even the most liberal in Hollywood acknowledge that.
It's a tough time right now. Take a breath, keep a prayer on your lips, and PLEASE don't become that which you most despise. Not in word or deed.
