You don't understand. Many proceeding on the opposite direction on the fwy may not know what is happening and there are HOV lanes near the center divider which people routinely travel at 75 mph. Someone getting out of their vehicle on the opposite side of the freeway would be a tragic mistake and nothing less than suicide.
