I heard that story also. What made it particularly poignant was that they said that when the President opened his eyes for the last time, they were clear, not clouded. (which was one of the hardest things for Nancy toward the end.) And Michael said, How wonderful that the last thing he saw here, was your wonderful smile, Mom, right before he got to see the face of God.

The man talking was saying that just before he died President Reagan open his eyes and looked at Nancy. Then he closed them and he passed away! Thank you. I had not heard that.
Did everybody see what I reported the ABC news guy said earlier?
It is an overcast day. As Nancy came up to the makeshift memorial of flags and items left to commemorate President Reagan....the sun broke through.

The man talking was saying that just before he died President Reagan open his eyes and looked at Nancy. Then he closed them and he passed away! That was so miraculous. One last look from her husband, with his eyes clear, and not clouded as they had been for so long.
The man who said that, in case it hasn't been mentioned, is an editor at People Magazine, which this Friday is running a terribly poignant article written by Patti. He and Linda Vester were reading parts of it, it's going to be a keeper, I think.
It seems Patti has inherited her father's great way with words (judging by the article on newsweek/msnbc site yesterday, a beautiful ode to her father).
