Six months ago, Billy, the star of "Sliver," "Fair Game," and "Backdraft," succeeded Alec as president of The Creative Coalition, the constellation of politicized stars formed in 1988 by Ron Silver... Billy first joined the bipartisan group in 1990, when the roster included Alec, Silver, Susan Sarandon, and Christopher Reeve. "It kind of started out as a think tank," Billy tells me, "educating the members about four issues: homelessness, First Amendment advocacy, pro-choice issues, and the environment. We’ve added campaign finance reform since then, and we just added children’s issues and education in December."
