One great post after another!
Thanks Aqua !
Alot went on this weekend, History and Heroes!
It is as if the good Lord deliberately called home one of His best servants right at the time we are honoring D-Day and all those wonderful heroes of Normandy, and had just dedicated the WWII Memorial.
President Reagan's death was bound to have an emotional impact on any given day, but coming as it does in this difficult period before the election with all the waxing and waning of Things Political, it gives the Nation (that has become something of a 'Nay'-shun) pause - -
The interruption right now brings us up short, taking stock of who and where we are as individuals, and as a whole. Remembering anew what a wonderful President and man and child of God Ronald Reagan was, perhaps we will emerge with purpose refreshed.
Throw in the mix President Bush's visibility in Europe, his fence-mending with France and Germany, and this week the G-8 Summit (with the new Iraqi President in attendance, designated before June 30th) right here on our shores, and he is greatly strengthened in the eyes of the world.
God's perfect timing, surely, and encouraging for those of us who believe we cannot survive without His power and grace - - - I, for one, have new hope for the outcome of the fall election and the future of America as a nation.
