You know, all I did was to post that some of us were Republicans from the beginning. That's all I did. I didn't run anyone down or impugn anyone's ancestors. And now I'm getting piled on by someone who types as though he's in junior high school and a bunch of "Southern gentlemen" who insult my ancestors as if doing so was some sort of fun little children's game. You obviously know absolutely nothing about what honor actually is or you would consider this a little more weighty than you do. The folks at "Democratic Underground" are true children of their ancestors, it seems.

Every Union soldier, Northern or Southern, who died for what he thought was right was a sub-human despoiler of Ole Massa's li'l ole paradise. Only the Confederates were brave. Our ancestors--mine and yours--came to respect each other on the battlefield despite their sincere disagreements about the nature of the Union. I would be glad to respect you and your interpretation of the Union (much as I disagree with it). But you, like a toy soldier who has no appreciation of what both sides suffered and went through for what they thought was right have no concept of real honor. That is why you insult my ancestors, and the fact that you think you can do so without shame (as though you have done nothing wrong) exposes you for what you really are.
