I wonder if some freeper out there could check the archives and see if ANY other President who died did not get a banner headline with the NYT????
Fair question.
President Eisenhower's death didn't get a banner headline. But there were two articles about him on the New York Times' March 28, 1969 front page.

I couldn't find any online pictures of the New York Times' front pages on the day after the deaths of Presidents Hoover (10/21/64), Truman (12/27/72), Johnson (1/23/73), or Nixon (4/23/94).
