MIDI - WHERE HAVE ALL THE COWBOYS GONE
For the greatest challenge he spent his life preparing
There'll never be one like him again
Standing at the ready...high up in the saddle
He ranks with the greatest men
He inspired a nation when he was needed most
He brought us leadership
And he would right what's wrong
Always my president
Heaven's where this cowboy's finally gone
He knew that God meant for men to live in freedom
That charge he took seriously
More than anyone he fought the Evil Empire
Millions everywhere now live free
He inspired a nation when he was needed most
He brought us leadership
And he would right what's wrong
Always my president
Heaven's where this cowboy's finally gone
There was one man who could say to them "Tear down this wall," and look them eye to eye
He's a hero...he's a hero...true hero
'Though the left had fought him, he had never wavered
Sense of purpose guided his life
When he had led the way all those with courage followed
He drew strength from his loyal wife
He inspired a nation when he was needed most
He brought us leadership
And he would right what's wrong
Always my president
Heaven's where this cowboy's gone
He brought us leadership
And he would right what's wrong
Always my president
Heaven's where this cowboy's finally gone
Heaven's where this cowboy's finally gone, gone
Heaven's where this cowboy's finally gone
He was the best
up to the test
He's loved by all...brought down The Wall
He was the best
up to the test
He's loved by all...brought down The Wall
Awesome, doug.... one of your best :-)
Me, too! And as for the words here -- you've got such a gift. Great, great words...for a great, great American AND president.
Doug.....That was very good.
Thank you.......
You're really good at this.
Have you considered an old Jimmy Buffet song, the title of which escapes me at this moment (seeing as I'm into a classic Irish 3-day wake, though my DNA is Scilian and Czech)but I think it's Annonymous or Incomnicado in which a line goes,
On the day that John Wayne died.....
I found myself on the Continental Divide...
Thanks for bringing your tribute to this thread.
Not familiar with the song, but I'll take a look at it.
Too bad the person who did the original to the song, Paula Cole, is a commmited Leftists who doesn't shave her pits.
I didn't know that about her but I really enjoy using their own melodies against them. In particular, I've loved doing things like Where Have All the Flowers Gone, Eve of Destruction, and any Streisand song.
Ping.
It took many hours, but I was grateful to have the chance to say goodbye yesterday.
