Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been appearing at fund-raisers for legislative Republicans. The result: millions of dollars in donations.
On May 24, Schwarzenegger raised a record $2 million for the GOP at a glitzy fund-raiser in downtown Los Angeles. And during a Thursday night event in Santa Barbara County, he raised $400,000 for Sen. Tom McClintock, R-Thousand Oaks -- four times more than his recall election rival has received at any event during 22 years in elected politics.
So far, Schwarzenegger has attended or committed to fund-raisers for six Republican legislative candidates, including five incumbents. His appearance typically raises about three to five times more than the candidate alone would get.

If you feel that talking about anything, except President Reagan is disrespectful, what are you doing on this thread?
I don't think that discussing other things is in any way disrespectful of President Reagan.
There are still plenty of posts and threads honoring him, and his legacy. A truly great statesman.
Arnold found Reagan an inspiration and considered Reagan his hero.
Give it a rest. Everyone else has.
Certainly Tom and Arnold have.
Clearly I don't think talking about "anything but President Reagan" is disrespectful. If I did, I would've made such a comment on the other threads to that end. What I find disrespectful to Ronald Reagan is an unprovoked attempt to sow rancor against a fellow Republican which clearly violates Reagan's "11th Commandment" while his body is still being prepared for burial. It is unseemly to pick political scabs at this time.

See above.

His legacy a a truly great statesman manifested itself in the form of not picking at political scabs.
Arnold found Reagan an inspiration and considered Reagan his hero.
As did Tom McClintock, I'm sure.
With that, I've had my say.
I think Benjamin Franklin would've been very proud of both Arnold and Tom, don't you?
Tom for writing things worth reading &
Arnold for doing things worth the writing.
Indeed. The Tom/Arnold contest is what he risked his life to help institute in the United States. A heated but civil contest, may the best man win, now let's roll.
Wasn't it Ronald Reagan who coined the Eleventh Commandment: "Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican"?
Indeed.
However, it was amended, as you might "recall," to exclude those considered to be RINO's.
Out here in WA, I'd take any RINO over the really rabid Rats we seem to elect from this state. Arnold would be quite refreshing to have as our Governor.
Arnold would be quite refreshing to have as our Governor.
Now that's refreshing!
Where?
Hey Texas Eagle: You need to chill.
I saw Bill Jones at a SPARC event last Wednesday and he said they just finished recording/preparing TV/print ads with Arnold. He is actively supporting Jones. Looks like they are trying to lay relatively low expenditure-wise, though, "until the public starts paying attention after Labor Day". While this is the common wisdom, I believe you have got to keep a minimum presence in the media and thus in the public's mind, even at the risk that the oppponent begins to spend major bucks as a reaction. But the good news is that the Gov is actively supporting the Jones campaign.
That's Arnold... pure class and lottsa PR muscle ;-)
GO DINO ROSSI!!!!
Have you met him? He's really outstanding. I really think we have a chance with him, especially with all this crap that's hitting the fan for Gregior.
Hey, could you post the full article? It says I need to register to see it.
However, one thing in fairness, Murray, Cantwell, and Gregoir are all certainly rabid far-left D's (Murray especially, get this, according to the ACU, she's FAR more liberal then DENNIS K! (AKA Cousin IT), but Locke has been surprisingly reasonable the past few years.
Not good by any strech of the imagination, but it was basically him deciding to go with Rossi's plan and againts his own Minority Leader in the Senate and Speaker in the House that kept us from a sales tax increase.
I mean, really. Was the parenthetical necessary? If the anti-Arnold people are that stubborn, screw 'em.
*** crickets ***
Steve Frank, a Senior Advisor for Jones for Senate told me that he has raised money, was in a commercial and been deeply involved. Additionally, Maria has stayed away from the race altogether-- not offering support to Jones, but not to Boxer, either. Arnold gave $1000 to Bruce Hershenson back when he ran against Boxer, so there's no love lost between Boxer and Arnold.
