My point is that the Left keeps bringing that up and it's irrelevant. The fact that Bush did or did not win the popular vote means nothing. It's the electoral vote that counts, and has always counted. Also, what happened four years ago when Bush was running as a man who had never been president cannot be compared with today. He has four years of experience. The economy has recovered. Jobs are being created by the thousands each month. We survived 9/11 and overcame the blow that 9/11 gave to the economy.
Also, if what happened in Tampa to Kerry yesterday is any indication of how his campaign is going, then he's dead in the water. Americans trust a leader with experience who has not compromised his position on national security. Besides, if this economy holds, and I think it will, it's almost impossible to defeat a sitting president when the economy is good.

The schaudenfreude continues!

OT:

Bless the Vietnamese people and I hope they achieve true freedom someday. The sad thing is that some of them will leave us to go home when that happens, and we will lose some of our best citizens.

Another odd coincidence about Warday... it was written by Whitley Streiber, the author of the book that The Day after Tomorrow was based on. The other author of TDAT? Art Bell... no fooling.

A couple of my friends have already returned and opened businesses in Sai Gon and Vung Tau. Both love being back there as Americans. Right now they have some advantage because the government, while considering them as VN citizens, leaves them alone more than it does the home Viets. One is importing American goods.

Another friend, a roundeye who has married a local Viet widow is working up to opening an appliance store in Vung Tau or Nha Trang with the idea of concentrating on repair. There are already washing machines, etc., sold in VN but the service is pretty thin.

The government likes the money flowing into the country and even manages to keep the bribeseekers to a minimum.

Yes, I knew that Streiber wrote Warday and the Communion series of books. I didn't care for his alien books. Too weird, even by my standards.

I am a big fan of Bell. Being an insomniac, his show entertained me many an evening.
