Yes, I hope she can get some rest now, after worrying for so many years about him.
Think what she had to go through, constant worry about his safety and health, the shooting, the cancer surgery, then his final illness which lasted for an unbearable time.
She deserves a rest, though I'm sure she'd prefer that he never had to leave this world.

My mother died with a form of dementia.....Although we still miss her today....We grieved more as she was dying then when she finally died....I'm sure Nancy will miss him terribly, but a part of her will be relieved that "it's over". My heart goes out to her. A wonderful first LADY!

He will be sorely missed. Thank God we had him for as long as we did.

Yes I agree. Alzheimers is so very hard on the caregivers. She will be torn between missing him and being thankful he no longer suffers.

May a suggest all three of the Reagan Letter books that are on the market....I bought them for my father's birthday. He has enjoyed them greatly...... They would make excellent Father's Day presents.

Yes. And you have no idea how many times I prayed that he would live until Clintoilet was no longer president.

I watched President Reagan give that speech, and I remember
thinking how well he encapsulated what he and his family,
especially Nancy, were up against in the long term.
He was truly seeing into the future, and it was pretty grim.....and yet,
his eternal optimism and selfless spirit shone through.
I cried like a baby while watching it, one of the most poignant
moments in television history, IMHO.
Thanks for posting it.

Thank you MJY1288! And all. These are wonderful pics.
What comes through to me in every picture is dignity and grace, without a hint of self-importance. A real leader and a real man of the people at the same time.
