Well...it only took CBS 12 minutes after the announcement of his death to mention Iran-Contra.

Goodbye, God Bless and Thank You Mr President. You were one of my hero's and I, and my children, will be forever in your debt.

Wonderful picture...I'm having a hard time maintaining my composure.
He represented so much that is good about America.

I rejoice for him because of that...but I'm so sad for us.

There is a certain peace in knowing that his suffering is over. God rest his soul, one of the greatest presidents to ever live.

Ditto. I thought I was prepared for this, but the emotions are pretty much overwhelming.

I'm going to turn off the TV now. I've already heard too much from these damn Presidential historians. The President's body isn't even cold yet and they're launching into attack. They aren't fit to mention Ronald Reagan's name let alone criticize him.

It is a terrible loss for the nation, but a tremendous move forward for Ronald Reagan to go home after 10 years with Alzheimer's. What a horrid disease that rob's the soul but leaves the body to exist.
God bless you President Reagan, You were truly on of America's best while you were here with us, rest in peace.

It would be nice if no running DU commentary or political campaigning was done on this thread.Agreed - there'll be plenty of opportunity to watch the Rats dance on President Reagan's grave in the coming days and weeks. That sight will be on the mainstream media 24/7. It'll be nice if we can have one place that's free of that poison.

Farewell, good and faithful servant. And flights of angels wing thee to thy rest.

I switched parties in 1976 to vote for him in the Florida Republican primary, then voted for him two more times in 1980 and 1984, the years he won. A truly great man. He brought down the greatest evil in the world without firing a shot. No one in human history will ever equal that accomplishment.
