My guess is the public has wised up. We now have Kerry telling everyone we are going to be nuked. Times change.

"Didn't happen with the DC sniper shooting, despite the best attempts of all the media and the libs." True, but that wasn't a huge, instant spectacle of blood, gore, and dead bodies like a mass-shooting would be.
The graboids would just LOVE to see some video on the news of 10-20 corpses on the ground in a mall or school, with the camera panning slowly to a blood-spattered semiauto sporter lying in a pile of casings.
