Wow.

I think I've had time to digest this, but I'm still trying to compose a proper response.

Well, I'm glad you let your feelings be known. It does help to get these things out into the open. Fresh air does help the soul.

It's funny that you mentioned Limbaugh at the beginning of your post, because he has this great riff on the prolonged adolescence of today's youth, which I think ties into many of your complaints about finding a suitable mate.

One thing the feminists have managed to accomplish over the previous thirty or so years, is to exculpate men from any type of moral responsibility. You brought this up-either implicitly or explicitly-several times in the course of your comments, which I think were very perceptive regarding the imbalance between the sexes.

I don't know if you've ever read "The Feminine Mystique", but it offers you a good idea of where this type of mentality originated. I have read it-don't laugh, you have to read that sort of crap to get an American Studies degree-and found Friedan's arguments to be very hollow.

I'd delve a little bit deeper into this aspect of the tortured, feminist interpretation of free will, but I'm sure that you've got dozens-if not hundreds-of takers who want to join in on the fray.

Let's rumble!

I don't know if you've ever read "The Feminine Mystique",

Something you may not know about Bett Freidan and find interesting. A few years ago she went on a speaking tour of college campuses to continue promoting her idea of "feminism", and I read a little about her talks.

Her real name was Freedman, not Freidan - Freidan was more dramatic. She had been a communist organizer in the 1950's along with her husband (whose name I forget now). She was not the typical New York housewife that she said she was at the time her book came out. She said all this openly on the speaking tour and was proud of it. But get this:

She was frustrated in her attempts to get young women interested in Marxism - they just didn't want to hear about politcal theory - so Freidan created her brand of feminism as a way to indoctrinate women in Marxism without calling it that. I am summarizing what she said about herself here, not how I interpret it.

So, Freidan's "feminism" is actually communist doctrine packaged for young women. Thought you might like to know.
