the loss of the childhood ritualHmmmmm....I was a child some 50 years ago and don't remember this particular "ritual." Valentine's cupcake parties, yes, but not cupcakes for each kid's birthday.

Wow, then your parents were lucky! Now that we are older, we hear stories about how we would tell Mom the night before that we needed 35 cupcakes.
