There's another election in Nov for the same seat, right? Any thoughts on Diedrich's chances of taking it back, with W on top of the ticket?

Democrat Moved Right to Win in Dakota

Yeah, just like our Demorat governor promised not to raise taxes (until after he was elected.) Just wait 'til she's sworn in. Linda Blair head-spin coming up!

In 1996, when Tim Johnson was running for the Senate, in speeches and in ads, he said that he favored a balanced budget amendment. Then, 5 months after taking office, he voted against it. And, the people of SD re-elected the liar in 2002. Go figure.

I do not believe that Herseth ran to the "right" to win in SD. I believe that the people of SD are unaware of the issues dividing these two candidates and probably thought that Miss Herseth was somewhat "conservative." It was a big victory for that SD native Tom Brokaw -- as well as Tom Daschle.

Since she was pro-abortion, that one issue should have divided the conservative minds from the liberal minds and defeated her. What happened, South Dakota?
