To: Boot Hill

I heard this last night. I am not buying his whole argument.

But I will say this: something is going on that grand jury, someone is saying something, because Bush retained Sharp for some reason. And I don't like the fact that it happened at the same time as Tenet leaving for "personal and financial reasons".

Do we know who has testified in front of that grand jury? Why haven't they subpoenaed Robert Novak? He supposedly knows the truth.

I guess what I sam saying is - I think the left could cook up a case here against Bush, we don't know what the witnesses are saying, are they saying things because someone got to them. Potentially, its a big problem for Bush.

There was nothing sinister about that move. He retained private counsel for the very simple reason of assuring attorney-client confidentiality. If the government pays for the lawyer, then the government is the client. If Bush pays for the lawyer, then Bush is the client and his confidential communications can't be breached.
