...if I remember right Tenent's background had nothing to do with intelligence...Before becoming DCIA he was the longtime Democratic chief of staff on the Senate Intelligence Committee, FWIW.

Tenet "personally" takes responsibility for his agency's f-ups. About time.

I think he worked on the hill his entire career before going to CIA, ending up, as I said, as chief of staff of the Senate Intelligence Committee. If he had some connection to corporate espionage I don't remember reading about it.

While no Iraqi WMD stockpiles have been uncovered, the Pentagon confirmed last week that at least one shell of Iraqi munitions contained the deadly nerve agent Sarin. What do they think Sarin is, laughing gas?

Hmmm, well then, who's responsibility is it that the German, French, Russian, Chinese and UN intelligence all said that Saddam had WMDs?

[George Tenet] presided over an organization that took part in questionble hires and thus increased the politicization of the CIA itself.Right! It is important to focus on the specific weaknesses of the CIA under Clinton, rather than the specific intelligence inaccuracies regarding Iraq's WMD programs. There needs to be a new era at Central Intelligence to hire, promote, and leverage tip-top talent.

I hope this isn't just on him, but on the Clinton's and Gorelick or whatever her stupid name is. How dare they blame Tenet and leave these people out. The real blame goes to the terrorists of course, but the CLINTON/GORE administration should have to answer to a lot! Most of it is covered up though.
