What WAS new was the revelation that Pres. Bush requires the services of a personal lawyer in the Valerie Pflame/Wilson/Niger affair.

Except that was NOT the news.

The report certainly was not that President Bush *requires* the services of a personal lawyer. The news was he consulted a lawyer and will retain him at a future date if need be. That could mean many things, and you can bet your boots GWB has not done wrong, and it is more likely in prep of the odious Wilsons preparing to sue him.

The point wasn't to quibble over retaining/consulting, etc.

It was that it was on Tenet's watch that this "Wilson goes to Niger" fiasco got started.

In fact, too much bad news out of the CIA happened on Tenet's watch.

Or perhaps President Bush is going to do the suing? The first thing everyone assumes when hearing someone has hired an attorney is that it is a defensive position; however, it could be quite the opposite.

One angle someone mentioned to me was that as Wilson, Clark wrote books they may have opened themselves up for a few court hours (after President Bush finishes his second term, of course!)
