This might suggest that Tenet expects some really ugly news might be around the corner. He is and always has been out for himself. He should have been fired long ago.

I smell a FORCED resignation here, don't think this was a good move! They should have kept him around a little while longer until the election. Too many ex-employees writing books about W, BUT a Tenet MOAB books can hurt W BIG TIME in November! This guy is NOT to be trusted. He'll probably hit all the networks by next Sunday and will have a TELL ALL book by Oct.! My gut feeling tells me this resignation by Tenet is going to get REAL nasty. W's face expression this morn said it all!

Hmmm now this is just an Idea but what if Chaney takes over at the CIA or the white house puts it out that if elected Chaney would get that post there by allowing the choice of a new VP like well you fill in the blank... McCain, Gulliani or maybe even Senator Hutchinson from Texas (maybe that's too much Texas for the rest of the country) or whoever you guy's get the Idea the Dem's couldn't say they dumped Chaney because he would be taking over the CIA and the republican's would get a viable contender for 08.
Don't flame me it's just an Idea

Damn those "personal reasons"! If not for them O.J. Simpson would still be a movie star, Freddie and the Dreamers would be recording artists, Clinton a President, Hitler alive in Argentina, Corvair the most popular automobile model, and so on.
I also wish the public officials would develop a shorthand for these things, since there is just a limited number of them. It would make it all so much easier to digest! They could call "personal reasons" "# 1", call "to spend more time with his family" "# 2" (I can't think of any others.) The President would just have to say that "So-and-so resigned for number one", and everyone would understand!
Ah, the lies and more lies of our public life!

Tenet was the least qualified CIA Director ever. Bush kept him on because of his father's personal ties to Tenet and thanks for naming the CIA HDQTRS after Bush. It was bad judgement to place a guy whose biggest job was supervising a Senate staff as head of a multi-billion dollar agency with tens of thousands of personnel.
Bush needs to appoint someone who has had executive experience, not a bureaucrat.
