Bushg was a fool to trust any Democrat.I think if anything, this is his Achilles' heel.
He was going on past experience of being able to work so well with the dims in Texas.
Different story, different world, in DC. These dims are snakes in the grass.

Here's a sample of the 'thought' in the DUmpster:
WOW! this can't be good for shrub!
the end of BushCo is happening right NOW!
FINALLY!!!!
I kid you not. LOL

Rudy would sail through confirmation. The Dems WOULD attack a nominee -- even in dangerous times -- for partisan reasons. They would swallow their hatred for Bush and confirm Rudy because they would look bad for smearing him. But, that would be the ONLY reason.
To: cyncooper
RUDY GULIANI will be his replacement! You can bet on it!

And who does everyone think demanded the whole Plame investigation knowing full well exactly where it was going to lead? And where has it lead?

That was my first (hope) thought, that Tenet will now be free to point the finger
at the Gorelick wall, with regard to intelligence failures leading up to 911.

This might suggest that Tenet expects some really ugly news might be around the corner. He is and always has been out for himself. He should have been fired long ago.

I think you are 100% wrong about that. Tenet has been loyal to the president and his job. He knows more than anyone there is too much at stake to politicize our national security.
There is zero evidence that Tenet is going to hurt this president in any way.

Unlike many freepers, I'd be astounded to see Tenet speak out badly about the president. Agreed. He seems like a decent honorable man.

He is there because of the "New Tone." What was Clarke doing there? The CIA is run by Ivy Leasge Democrats. Of couse one hopes you are right but do not be surprised if he turns on Bush, the pressure on him from the Democrat etsablishent will be intense.
To: Bahbah
About time. They say it is for personal reasons.
ya, he had someone's foot stuck in his a$$

my point is quite simple - in my opinion, this is not going to be a positive for Bush 150 days from an election. its going to be a negative.
To: Peach
Actually, this could be good for the GOP. Nothing like have the Rats acting badly about appointment of our intel director heading into the election. It will show their hand in working against/stonewalling a process necessary to ensure our safety. Good to have safety/security issues front and center entering the election. Let Kerry, Kennedy and the ACLU shoot off their mouths at the wrong time and their done.
