I don't blame him for getting advice from an attorney. With the HATE BUSH CROWD I wouldn't put anything passed them. We know that President Bush didn't leak anything because he hates leaks.

*"but the timing is weird, I wonder if they are trying to get attention away from something else,"*

But of course! The President made an historic speech today.

And...the Iraqi government is on track, the economy is growing, the "9/11 Commission" is a bust, Americans trust the President, the Dimms are stuck with Miss Kerry...and they're without an issue.

So, for the DemonRats it's back to the beginning of their smear campaign.

Well, there it is again. I show up, only to find Freepers freaking out over nothing.

Has everyone forgotten that Bush is about to go overseas, where he KNOWS there will be people there who want to kill him? Some people like handle probate and other issues under these kinds of circumstances.

And if it stokes media fires, and lets those fools get overconfident and out of control, so much the better?

LOL! Clinton was for lawyers what George Washington was for beds. There wasn't a lawyer within 100 miles of clinton who hadn't been retained by him at one time or another.

In addition to the Plame leak, there is also the Chalabi affair, which I think is extremely weird and still a huge mystery. That worries me more than this; something very weird was going on around Chalabi. Either someone in the DOD or State was feeding him secrets, or elements in the CIA are trying to undermine Bush, or . . . ?

"I seriously doubt that Bush himself leaked anything to Novak. "

Me neither....not to be mean to Dubya, but I don't think they let him make phone calls to the press very often.

WASHINGTON - President Bush has consulted an outside lawyer in case he needs to retain him in the grand jury investigation of who leaked the name of a covert CIA operative last year, the White House said Wednesday.

And why exactly would the WH tell the world this anyway? The President can't retain a personal attorney without the WH leaking it or reporting it and it getting blabbed on ABC news?

Well you could have told us and we would have made sure that someone reported it. I don't know how important it would have been in our local Arkansas town paper but I could have gotten it in there. lol!

WOW, what if this were actually true.

What if it is?

What do you make of it?

Since we know President Bush didn't do anything wrong, it can't be bad in and of itself.

So what's with the "WOW"?

nothing here. Let's ASSUME that the White House leaked the name. Do you think Bush himself was personally involved? I rest my case.

An alternate and truthful headline could have been:

BUSH DECIDES AGAINST RETAINING LAWYER FOR CIA LEAK INVESTIGATION

"I have no doubt whatsoever - NONE - that if this Plame thing had involved a Democratic administration, the whole thing would have died a quiet death a year ago - no investigation, no grand jury, NOTHING. And that makes me livid."

Why would it make you livid if there is nothing to the story? Clinton was the most investigated President in our lifetimes (for good reason), and had this happened on his watch, I can guarantee some dust would be kicked up.

You need to tune your media disgronificator. Turn it on high.

There that's better.

Now you can see-BS clearer.

Let's ASSUME that the White House leaked the name

How does anyone "leak" something universally known?
