It's getting to the point where even Dan Blather and al-Katie Quric won't even able to hide it.
Construction, factories, home sales, retail sales, the markets, employment. Nearly everything is up.
Deutsche Bank is for casting 300,000 increase in non-farm payrolls this Friday and a drop in the unemployment rate from 5.6% to 5.4%.

The Democratic Party has put itself into a very difficult position. Its leadership has insisted on taking very extreme positions on most issues that appear, at least to the educated observer, to be positions taken, in some instances, just for the sake of taking positions contrary to those of George Bush and Conservatism generally.
It is at the point where any good news; be that good news from Iraq, good economic news, good environmental news etc., anything and everything positive that happens that happens while a Republican is in the White House must be resisted, refuted, impugned, assaulted, delegitimized, and when all else fails, self censored or filtered properly for public consumption (the media's job).
The power-madness that has gripped this party is startling. It amazes one to observe that the people that were on the outside of the Democratic convention in 1968, raving about revolution, battling police and vandalizing the city are now on the inside and in control of that party, and make up much of its rank and file membership. Its really astounding to listen to AirAmericaRadio and realize that the militant, conspiratorial leftism that informs the ideological worldview of its hosts and the station's general demeanor is being sold to the public as a "liberal" alternative to Rush Limbaugh and Fox News. One immediately thinks of JFK or Hubert Humphery.
It seems that the only real alternative to "Conservatism" at present is Chomskyeque leftism. My point is that when one looks around at the American Left these days, there are few real "moderates" (in the sense of a reasonable, loyal opposition)among the Left anymore. MoveOn.org and the concepts expressed at AirAmericaRadio ARE mainstream Liberalism at this point, or so it seems.
