SAN ANTONIO -- Two stolen propane trucks stolen from San Antonio and a subject of an FBI alert were found Wednesday, according to a TV station report.

FBI Agent-In-Charge Patrick Patterson confirmed to KSAT-TV in San Antonio that the trucks were found in a warehouse in Laredo, Texas.

The FBI issued an alert earlier Tuesday for two propane trucks and 15 gas canisters that were stolen over the Memorial Day Holiday weekend.

That's really good. Here in sleepy old Houston, I hadn't been so worried about a 9-11 style attack. Then all of a sudden, it seemed like, the price of oil went over $40 a barrel, Saudi Arabia got attacked by insurgents, and I feel like we got a target painted all over our chests.

According to the story on Fox They were spotted by a concerned citizen. They may have been by the warehouse, but they were outside "by the side of the road", again according the Fox report.

There's still no word whether the trucks were still carrying the explosive fuel when they were found. [No mention of warehouse]

Fox story says they were still loaded, and also doesn't mention any warehouse.

I suspect that with all the publicity, the theives got spooked. Or they had stashed them there for a latter "run for the border", but the trucks were spotted by an alert citizen.

I'm a lifelong Texan. Vehicles are routinely stolen, particularly from San Antonio and south Texas, taken to a border town, repainted, sometimes given new plates and driven over the border to a waiting customer.

Happens quite frequently in Arizona, and I would imagine New Mexico. My brother had a truck stolen in Phoenix, Arizona, but it was recovered before it went into Mexico. My brother didn't bother picking it up at the impound yard after he got a good look inside and out. I didn't blame him.

I hope they test the contents before using it. It wouldn't surprise me to find out 'additives' had been added that could cause a huge explosion. How scary is that?
