Actually, DC has its own municipal courts, so I'm not sure why it's a federal case. Maybe the DOJ performs the service that the DA does in most jurisdictions. That's right, the U.S. Attorney's Office in DC is the prosecutor in all municipal court prosecutions.

The fun will start when the high-and-mighty bitch is slapped with a civil action by the "commoner" she punched out.
Perhaps the case could be venued away from DC so that a fair civil trial could take place.......

Since when is it a Federal Crime to get into a stupid fight in a parking lot? They were probably fighting on the Montana Border and the fight spilled into some other state.... ;-)

"Wanda Baucus' next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 2."
Won't she be surprised. I'm going to ask around and see if I can be the one to serve process on her while an associate records the event on videotape. I've served paper before, but only as a favor to lawyers and fellow PIs who are in a lurch.....

Stay tuned. My bet is that she'll screw up re: complying with community service, anger management class attendance, etc. and will be re-arrested.
But inquiring minds with spare time need to be watching this.....

Baucus, Senator or Mrs. are airheads, but dangerous airheads. How I hope he is in his last term in the Senate.

Criminal court, sure she beats it every time because she's a senator's wife. Now Civil action which I would seek if I were the victim at Mulch Gulch and Wanda pistol whipped me, I'd sue her and her hubby, who's pockets are so deep they have toe holes in them.

Does anyone know how Max voted on the Iraq war resolution? The guy is one of the dimmest bulbs in the Senate.

The cause of this problem is obviously a lack of undocumented landscaping types in the DC area. When a senator's wife has to buy and haul her own mulch, bad things happen.
At least Sheila Jackson Lee is smart enough to have everything around her paved over, mulchless and grassless. An assault with Jackson-Lee would boil down to who's limo driver packed the largest clip.

In this case, Wanda was the soccer mom. It seems that she was actually forced to wait her turn to have her purchases loaded into her car. Oh, the inhumanity of it all...

Bet the lady she hit is going to liberate a nice settlement in civil court....a deal will be reached.
