"I don't see where I'm better off than I was four years ago...."
Well, I'm good at my job and work hard. I now make 50% more than I did four years ago. Have a wife and kid, a car and an SUV in the driveway. My property value is up 10% annually and I paid less taxes last year than the year before. I'm safer now under Bush than I was under Clinton. I'd say I'm much better off.
That is such a pathetic argument. It was used in 1992 by morons who only expected handouts. I had that same argument with a friend of mine in 1992. I was doing better than in 1998. Of course, I changed jobs and got divorced.
