And that wasn't the conclusion he was drawing from a long dialog - I don't discuss politics at work - those were the verbatim words he started the conversation with while I sat and added drivers to his computer.
I was so angry it was all I could do to remain civil. I don't know have the slightest idea where he was coming from.
The left is in full meltdown. It's pretty sick.
I'm sorry you went through this, but honestly, I'm kinda enjoying it.
I agree, they are in full meltdown mode. They are useing everything in the book against Bush and it doesn't seem to be really hurting him.
Think about it; Soro's millions, Moveon.org's ads, Gore's speech, bias in the media, the daily --sometimes hourly-display of photo's from the Iraqi prison, not to mention Moore's new movie and 'The Day After Tomorrow'. They control the media, the colleges, the schools, and the entire entertainment industry. Not to mention--to many, Kerry is a certified war hero.
But the best they can seem to manage is, in some areas at least, Kerry has a 3%-6% lead on Bush.
Heck, if I were a leftist, I'd be in meltdown mode, too. If I were an elitest leftist I'd be screaming at the top of my lungs everyday, everywhere.
Bush connects to the same people these leftists are trying to drag towards socialism--for their own good, of course. And they hate him for it. And they hate us for liking him.
Tell them 'Bush is a f+*&ing moron' and be done with it. If it makes their ego feel better, so be it. I'm beyond saving them. They'll know better in November.
Then reply: " But Bush will still win.. "
I used this tactic when Reagan was running...
It infuriated the lefties, mostly because they knew it was true..
All their sense of "injustice" was smothered by my reply that even if all they said was true, it was moot..
Because Reagan was going to win, no matter what..
It was so entertaining, to watch the foam begin to build at the corners of their mouths..
You're not alone. A while ago I had a phone conservation with a close friend. We were talking about sports for crying out loud and all of a sudden he screamed "Bush is a f-----idiot!!" and I mean screamed and then went into this rant about stupid Bush leading us to war for oil (of course). Well the conservation went downhill from there as I got angrier. He not only denied that Hussein had have wmds before the war, he denied he EVER!!! had them. Naturally I threw a lot of facts in front of him like every ally and every foreign intelligence agency claiming he had them. "What about the Kurds and the Iranians being gassed by Hussein?" I said. All lies said my friend. He is a person who is immune to logic and reason. And he's no pauper either and not much of a true lib (he's very pro-law enforcement). It's funny how so many of my lib friends are doing a lot better financially than I am. But they are consumed with hatred for Bush and Republicans that pushes the limits of sanity. I'm convinced that a lot of the irrational hatred of Republicans is simple envy. Someone supposedly has more than they do, and IT'S JUST NOT FAIR!!...or so they claim.
The left and reality have never been on the same sheet of music, but I have to concur, they have now brought an oboe to the who concert. I have had similar experiences, if you want to see a real meltdown calmly ask them to name the three branches of the federal government. They can never do it.
