I'm not sure which carrier is on patrol over there. Ever since Nixon every administration ad been almost infatuated with China.
This infatuation swelled to outright treason by the previous occupant of the White House. China has greatly benefited from their investment in the Klinton administration.
Even the current administration continues to sell them sensitive equipment from defense plants that have closed here in the U.S.
The invasion will be much easier since their occupation of the Panama Canal zone has become complete too.

Taiwan had better get their own nuclear deterrence soon or they are toast IMO. China continues its buildup and the US won't go to war for them IMO. We keep hoping for a accommodation and by our actions are telling the Taiwanese that they need to find a peaceful resolution with China. If they do not, we will act appalled and direct harsh language at China when they attack, but I don't think we will nuke them.
