Thank you, redrock, for the memories you have rekindled on this Memorial Day. I worked at the California Veteran's Home for over 25 years, and it brought back great memories of all the acquaintances, most now gone, that I made during that time.
Also, this is my first Memorial Day without my Dad.

I lost my Dad on Memorial Day weekend, 1981 and it still seems like last year. He was such an honorable, righteous, love-filled man, a dear husband, a delightful Daddy, and a treasured GrandDad.
May they both rest in peace.
